Summary:

Just imagine … there is a war.
Actually, it’s almost unthinkable.
Especially for children who never found themselves in this situation.
With poetic sentences and impressive images On the Run takes children and their parents from a frightening, hopeless situation to a hopeful future.
In a touching way, that invites a conversation and gives food for thought.
Because, just imagine …

Info on the author:

Pimm van Hest (1975) was born in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. After having worked as a teacher for one year he started his studies in psychology when he met his present partner. Soon it became clear they wanted to adopt a child. In 2007 their daughter Moira came into their lives. Moira’s arrival was the inspiration for his first book. Pimm’s books are known for their strong, touching and universal topics and his books have been translated all over the world.

Info on the illustrator:

From the day that Aron Dijkstra (1992, Sneek, NL) could hold a pencil, he loved nothing more than inventing stories and bring them to life with drawings. Since then, nothing has changed, except that he graduated for a study of Illustration. In 2016 Aron made his debut as an author and illustrator with his picture book Nick the Knight, which was translated in many countries. His style of drawing is characterized by dynamic perspectives, accessibility and a lot of colors. He has a preference for traditional materials such as ink, pencil and paint. There is no computer involved.
