Every Story Matters

 Every Story Matters’ Fellowship in Ljubljana (Postponed)

As part of the EU-funded project Every Story Matters (ESM), the Slovenian Book Agency organizes a Fellowship for international publishers interested in the exchange of quality books for children and young adults with an emphasis on inclusion.

When: Postponed (T.B.C.)

 

What:

An immersive three day program dedicated to inclusivity and diversity, including:

  • A presentation of the EU project Every Story Matters (ESM), workshops with specialists, round tables with internationally acclaimed authors and illustrators.

  • Meeting publishers/editors, interested in inclusivity and diversity, pitching your books from the field and getting to know others.

  • Getting acquainted with six new inclusive stories developed by the writers and illustrators of the Every Story Matters Talent Development Programme.

  • Spending quality time in a safe environment enriched with local cultural experiences.

  • Travel and accommodation  costs fully covered by Every Story Matters.

Up to 20 participants will be selected. 

Appllications will re-open when the new dates have been confirmed. 

 What do we mean by inclusive books?

Books, in which the plot, the characters, the illustrations, etc. feature a diverse socio-economic or cultural background, gender, sexual preference, or mental and physical (dis)abilities. By inclusive we mean literature that reflects and honours all readers regardless of their differences, whatever those may be.
